CHRISTO THESNAAR is a professor of practical theology at Stellenbosch University, where he also gained his doctorate. His main research areas are themes related to reconciliation such as memory, intergenerational trauma, justice, healing, and restitution. He was a founder member of the Institute for the Healing of Memories and currently serves on their board. He also heads up the Unit of Reconciliation and Justice at the Beyers Naudé Centre for Public Theology, University of Stellenbosch.
